Chike, Pencil others to influence AU’s Bingwa initiative
August 11, 2022Chike, the Nigerian singer and songwriter, has partnered with the African Union (AU) for a song aimed at encouraging people to take the COVID-19 vaccine.
The musician spoke about the forthcoming project during the AU Bingwa event in Lagos on Friday.
The event, titled ‘AU COVID-19 vaccination Bingwa Initiative Planning meeting and COVID-19 vaccination scalable models workshop concept note’, was in partnership with TRACE television, Mastercard and GIZ.
The event was graced by Ngwenya Prudence Nonkululeko, director of women, gender and youth directorate at the African Union Commission; and Chrys Promesse Kaniki, senior technical officer for strategic programmes, Africa CDC executive office.
Others in attendance were Jennifer Onyekwelu, the popular TikToker; Pamilerin, the social media influencer; and Pencil Comedian.
At the briefing, the ‘Running to You’ crooner expressed his excitement to be part of the vaccine sensitisation campaign.
The 29-year-old also enjoined Nigerians to get vaccinated to avoid another lockdown.
